AFTERBURNER CLIMAX^TM HITS THE SKIES

All Eyes to the Sky for the Standard, Deluxe and Super Deluxe Coming Soon

Elk Grove Village, IL September 18, 2006 — Sega Amusements USA, Inc. has scheduled the release of Afterburner Climax^TM, the next generation in air combat, coin-operated video games. The game will be offered in a Standard, Deluxe and Super Deluxe cabinet. The Standard and Deluxe will release late November, and the Super Deluxe shortly after.

Afterburner Climax^TM is the powerful sequel to Sega's 1980s hit, Afterburner^TM. The jet-fueled title will hit the market on Sega's dynamic Lindbergh^TM hardware system, allowing for much greater depths of play and photorealistic graphics.

Afterburner Climax^TM features the top fighter planes of today's day and age, soaring through climates and skies of all types. The Brave Fangs Aero Team, part of the G.H.O.S.T. squadron from Sega's ever-popular Ghost Squad^TM, has been instructed to shut down the rebels of the air to end a potentially demolishing nuclear inferno.

Players will board a variety of aircrafts including the F-14 Super Tomcat, F-15E Strike Eagle and F/A-19E Super Hornet, offered in 4 different color variations, and fully loaded with guns and missiles for optimal defense against the enemy.

Afterburner Climax^TM features 20 new stages, including Volcanic Islands, an Iceberg Base, Nuclear Arsenal, plus secret and extra stages. In addition, Critical Commands arise in game play with specific missions or changing enemy patterns. Climax Mode can be used to slow enemy motion by increasing speed or accomplishing a mission. Plus, high-tempo background music intensifies the aura of the game.

Sega Amusements USA, Inc. will offer Afterburner Climax^TM in three cabinet styles each providing unique game play experiences. The Standard cabinet is an aesthetically attractive, stationary cabinet with a cockpit-style seat. The Commander (Deluxe) cabinet is simulated and tilts side to side for a realistic experience. The Climax (Super Deluxe) cabinet will be a Simuline make. It too will be simulated, but will jump all emotions with up down and side to side motion.

Afterburner Climax^TM carries an AAMA Rating of Green for all ages. The cabinets shown are prototypes; production models may vary.
